The workshop offers a forum for the discussion of the latest results and advances in visual information retrieval using synthetic imagery.
It specifically aims to foster collaboration between the image retrieval; optimization in natural computing; and synthetic imagery communities in order to stimulate further interdisciplinary research.
In the workshop an introduction will be provided on the current state-of-the art on image retrieval using synthetic imagery. This is followed several talks which discuss potential directions for advancing the field based on novel optimization algorithms and synthesis methodologies.
The meeting closes with a round table discussion on future
prospects for research collaboration.
