| Helios Technology has awarded a research grant to LIACS Media Lab member Dr. Michael S. Lew for "Integrating Search and Exploration in Image Databases"
Searching and browsing/exploration in image database systems are typically completely independent components. The research in the proposal examines the potential synergy in combining search and exploration in image (photographic, MRI, X-ray) databases. The grant (20K) covers the material costs for a visualization platform, a high performance multiple terabyte server and required travel. |
